Excitement ~

I have been so excited to learn more about photography and the many programs that allow you to edit the photos taken in the field. As Photoshop World quickly approaches; I can't wait to learn even more.

These are a couple recent photos I took that I really love.

Carl is AMAZING ~

This is a Cisco / Harrah's Video that Carl stars in:

I LOVE YOU, Carl!!!

(FYI...the music playlist at the bottom of our blog will need to be paused in order to hear the video when it plays.)

Love modern medicine ~

Laparoscopy surgery seemed to have gone well yesterday. I will know more in a week and a half when I have my follow-up appointment. I am so grateful for family, friends, modern technology and effective pain medication. I couldn't believe how nauseated the anesthetic made me feel yesterday. I was happy to have woken up this morning feeling much better. I enjoyed breakfast in bed with the kids and was so grateful to my lil' sis Toresa for not only taking care of our kids last night, but also ALL day today.

A BIG thanks to my mom for being such a wonderful grandma yesterday and loving our kids while we were away. Thank you Mindi for the good reading material "Twilight" while I am down. Thank You Jenny & Christine for bringing in a HUGE and DELICIOUS dinner last night that also feed us lunch and dinner today. Thank you to everyone that called and checked on me and have kept me in your prayers.

In case you want to get grossed out ... here is a beautiful photo of one of my three incision (my belly button):

Love you too Kari ~

I was tagged by cousin Kari ... (first time for everything) so here it goes:

20 years ago I was . . . starting 5th grade at Rex Bell Elementary, my parents were still married, Amber, Rebecca and Bernice were my best friends; I wished I was all grown up (boy ... if I could only go back and relax).

10 years ago I was . . . going to college, working full-time and just living life.

5 years ago I was . . . enjoying being a newlywed to Carl, learning to be a step-mom, enjoying being a mom, getting to know the people in our new ward, waiting for our house to be built, and starting the first of the court battles with the ex's.

3 years ago I was . . . still enjoying being a mom, celebrating the milestone of Peyton turning one, was the Activity Chairperson in our ward, babysitting like crazy, sad that Alanna was starting kindergarten and still in court battles with the ex's (wow long two years).

So far this past year I . . . have been the Stake Cultural Arts Director, ward nursery worker, finally graduated with my Associates Degree in Education, started doing preschool with Peyton, vacationed in Mexico, enjoyed Magic Mountain with and without the kids, found out I need to have another laparoscopy, tried to become more positive and enjoy every moment. :)

Yesterday I . . . went to church, helped Carl get ready to leave town for another week, spent time getting the photos I took of Alanna in her baptism dress the way I wanted them in Photoshop, made breakfast, lunch and dinner, bathed kids and made sure paperwork and clothes were ready for the first day of school ... oh and did dishes.

This next year I will . . . hopefully get pregnant, become a professional Photoshop user, graduate with my second Associates Degree (after this semester I am only one class away), do a lot of photo shoots and build a clientele, read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover, be a good wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend. :) At least try to, right!

First Day of School ~

The first day of school brought anticipation as well as excitement. The girls were excited to be dropped off for their first day by their mom's. I didn't get a photo of Curt because I didn't see him this morning. :(

One Dream is Reality ~

I need to start first by again thanking my wonderful husband for his continued support of my dreams. "THANK YOU, LOVE"

My love for photography really peaked in High School, but I didn't have the confidence or means to see it through. Carl has recently urged me to get the equipment, if only to document the lives of our children through photography. I have thoroughly enjoyed it so much and am in the process of creating a website. Right now I have a photography blog (address below); check it out.

I would love the opportunity to capture the unique personalities and special moments in your lives as well. I trust that you won't be disappointed.

Please feel free to add a link to your blogs and/or websites. Thank You!

Mexico ~

We just spent a week in Puerto Penasco, Mexico as a family. WOW! It was very pretty and relaxing; so much so that we didn’t leave our resort (except for Friday to check out the city), but spent our time swimming in the pool, the sea, playing on the beach, collecting shells, building sandcastles, can't forget eating, and of course posing for pictures.
Here are just a few pics. I had a very hard time narrowing them down (started with almost 1700).

Check out the kids' blogs and my photography blog for more.

Another Passing ~

My uncle passed this last week from a heart attack. We found out on Friday that the services were on Saturday morning. We wouldn't have missed the funeral for anything. My dear husband was adamant that we cut our trip a day short and drive all night long (from Puerto Penasco, Mexico to LaVerkin, Utah) to make it for the services. It was a mere 700 miles ~ one way. I can't express adequately in words how much I truly appreciate his support and love. THANK YOU Carl!!

Once again, I was grateful to have our new camera to capture the precious family moments.
