Field Day ~

Today started off a blast. Peyton participated in his first field day and LOVED it!

Christine and I took the kids to Subway for a quick lunch and then back to the school so we could join in the Field Day fun with our older girls. This is where my day took a VERY emotional turn. I left my purse hanging on my chair and didn't realize it until I got back to the school and went to pull my lip gloss out of it. I rushed back, but by that time someone had already taken it. After a very long wait the district manager came and we watched the surveillance tape ... 5 MINUTES, that's how long it was from when the girl walked out of Subway with MY purse on her shoulder to when I walked back in frantically looking for it; and she watched me look and cry while I couldn't find it. REALLY, I completely take responsibility that I left it, but she watched as if she had no clue. To make a long story short ... that evening I received a call and my purse had been found in a dumpster, so I picked it up from the management company of where it was found. The only things missing were my almost $200 in cash and Peyton's camera with his pictures on it. She didn't take my cards, checks, gift cards (over $400 worth) ... good thing I didn't put my iPhone and new camera in my purse (almost did) when I sat down to eat. Could have ended way worse ... I am counting my blessings. :) However, the ordeal took hours and I missed Field Day with Kasey & Alanna. Christine came back and sat with me (missed Field Day with her girls) as I cried, felt like an idiot and was angry with myself ... I think she's an amazing friend, don't you?
