He missed his connecting flight from Houston to Las Vegas so instead of arriving home at 8:55 am he made it home at 11:55. We were so excited to see him. The first little bit was definitely an adjustment for him. He had to think about how to speak in English instead of Portuguese. As we drove from the airport to In-N-Out Burger (his request for lunch) he kept repeating how beautiful everything was and how weird it was to be traveling in a vehicle. Alanna wouldn't leave him alone, kept asking questions, and just wanted to be around him. It was nice to hang out with the family with no time constraints. The kids loved playing with cousins and didn't want the fun to end ... but after all it is a school night. I love how warn and scratched his name badge was ... he was a very faithful, hard-working and dedicated missionary.
